Window Surrounds
Thorverton Stone window surrounds include a combination of cills, jambs, lintels, mullions, transoms and label moulding. Mullions and transoms will only be used if the window is a multi light and multi pane window (e.g. split vertically and/or horizontally) and the label moulding is an optional item for any window, not just window surrounds.
We have a standard pattern of window surround of a traditional design seen throughout the country. See our further information Data Sheet for help on ordering your window surrounds.
We also manufacture an anti cold bridging window surround, which dramatically improves the thermal efficiency of the surround. The stonework will be seen on the inside of the property with these surrounds. See our section drawing for detailed information.
We manufacture our window surrounds to suit your window frame type and size. Tell us your required opening / window frame size and we will manufacture a surround to fit.
Choices of Window Surround
Anti Cold-bridging surrounds – we have a special design of window surround based on our traditional design, to dramatically reduce cold bridging. The stonework will be seen inside the house as well as outside and the whole surround meets modern building regulations (Part L). Traditional style surround – we have a
standard design of mullion window surround adaptable to most opening sizes. The red brick house photos above show this style of window surround. Also, see the data sheet for a picture.
Round or Oval windows - manufactured to suit your opening sizes, they can be chamfered, flat and with or without keystones.
