Cast stone, as you need it

Transporting

The majority of our stone is delivered on pallets, usually via a lorry or van. It is the customer's responsibility to provide suitable delivery space and to unload the delivery vehicle.

There are 3 main ways in which our cast stone reaches you:

  1. For smaller, non-local, orders of 1 or 2 pallets we use a specialist pallet haulage company. The delivery vehicle is equipped with a set of "pallet trucks" and can off-load the pallets onto flat hard standing ground, but cannot move the pallets any distance from the delivery vehicle.

  2. For larger orders or several pallets we use a haulier. Site access must be large enough to manouvre an 8 wheel rigid lorry or smaller articulated lorry. Typically it is the customers responsibility to supply a fork-lift truck or other suitable method of off-loading the pallets. However, we can arrange for a "piggy back" fork-lift but this is chargeable. Full delivery costs will be included in the initial quote.

  3. Small local orders of less than 1 ton in weight and under 2m in length can be delivered by our van. If no fork-lift is available on site, the customer will need to supply enough man-power to hand off-load the products.

If you have the wherewithall, you are welcome to collect from our factory yard where we have fork-lift trucks to load you or we are willing to help hand load into your car provided the items are within HSE weight limits for lifting.
