To fulfil our customers expectations and requirements through the provision of our diverse range of cast stone (cementious) architectural products, within a creative and united working environment.
History
Thorverton Stone Company was established in 1990 to specialise in the manufacture of bespoke architecturally designed cast stone, as well as more standard items.
Our Business
Our client base has grown considerably over the years and includes companies from all sectors of the building industry, as well as individual customers. We are able to cater for a wide range of projects from ‘one off’ items to major production runs, scheduled in phases.The majority of our business is in the South of England, London, the Home Counties and Wales, though we also have a number of clients in Scotland, Ireland and the Channel Islands. We deliver nationwide.
Product
Our products are made to your specification to fit with your project, whether it be renovation, extension or new build and our cast stone items may be used either inside or outside the building.
We are able to manufacture in both the semi-dry and the wet cast methods and offer special finishes if requested, such as acid-etched stone, polished or exposed aggregates. All our products are manufactured to meet BS1217 and the UKCSA standards and regular testing of both compressive strength and water absorption are carried out as part of our commitment to exceed legal requirements.
Services
Each project is managed from concept to delivery. This includes help with cast stone design, some technical drawing if required, drawing interpretation and help with quantities, liasing with architects, site engineers, site foremen and builders.
Billing
New customers are asked for 25% of the quote value in advance with the remainder invoiced at delivery. For large production runs scheduled in phases, billing is generally carried out with each delivery. Regular customers will be given an account.
Deliveries
Large orders are delivered by a haulier who offers a self-unloading ‘piggy back’ forklift on request. Smaller orders are delivered by a specialist pallet distribution service.
After sales service
Site remedial work can be requested.
We are happy to advise on issues such as fixing, pointing, repairing and cleaning.
